Product Overview

The Aerpro AMDVW4 is a complete head unit upgrade kit for Volkswagen models fitted with the MIB-PQ factory head unit — the Amarok (2016-on), Caddy (2015–2020), Multivan (2016–2019), Tiguan (2015–2016)*, and Transporter (2016–2019). It replaces the MIB-PQ unit with a 10" capacitive touchscreen at 1024x600 resolution via the AM1005D multimedia receiver, adding wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, built-in DAB+ digital radio, and Bluetooth V5. Steering wheel controls are retained as standard.

(*) Tiguan size warning: On Tiguan (2015–2016) models, the 10" kit partially covers the factory hazard button.

The kit includes the AM1005D multimedia receiver, matte black facia kit, SWC interface harness, SWC patch lead, and antenna adaptor. Factory reverse camera, amplifier, and vehicle menu are not retained by this kit as standard. Factory camera retention is possible with the separately sold APVVW03 adaptor. Stop-start models may require the separately sold APIGNSTB ignition stabiliser. The phone button on the steering wheel may require removing a fuse from the factory Bluetooth module to function correctly after installation.

Why might the phone button need a Bluetooth fuse removed?

The factory MIB-PQ head unit communicates phone button commands via the factory Bluetooth module. After installing the aftermarket head unit, this factory BT module can interfere with the new head unit's phone button recognition. Removing the relevant fuse disables the factory BT module's interference, allowing the new head unit to handle the phone button correctly. Does this suit the Tiguan from 2017 onwards?
