The Aerpro AMDMB8 is a complete head unit upgrade kit for the Mitsubishi Triton MQ (2016–2018) fitted with auto climate control and no factory amplifier. It replaces the factory unit with a 9" capacitive touchscreen at 1024x600 resolution, adding wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, built-in DAB+ digital radio, and Bluetooth V5 retaining steering wheel controls (including the phone button), the factory reverse camera (if equipped), and the factory USB input (if equipped, one port only).

Of the four Triton-specific Aerpro kits, the AMDMB8 offers the most comprehensive factory feature retention for the MQ generation covering both the reverse camera and USB input alongside SWC. The kit includes the AM905D multimedia receiver, black facia kit, SWC interface harness, SWC patch lead, camera retention adaptor, and two USB retention adaptors (only one is installed, chosen based on vehicle variance). A 720P AHD universal rear camera is also included.

How do I know if my Triton MQ is non-amplified?

A factory-amplified Triton MQ typically has a separate amplifier unit fitted to the vehicle (often under a seat or in the cargo area) with dedicated speaker wiring running from it. If your Triton runs all speaker wiring directly from the factory head unit with no separate amplifier unit, it is non-amplified. Why are two USB adaptors included if only one is used?

The Triton MQ (2016–2018) has build variances that affect which USB retention adaptor is needed. Aerpro supplies both adaptors in the kit so the correct one can be selected during installation without needing a second order. The unused adaptor is simply not installed.

Only one factory USB port is retained — which one?

One factory USB port is retained via the head unit's rear USB input. The specific port retained depends on which USB retention adaptor suits your vehicle's build. The head unit's own dual USB ports remain available for CarPlay/Android Auto and media playback regardless.

Why does the park brake wire need to be connected?

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto require the park brake wire to be connected to the actual park brake. Without this connection, both functions will not activate. This is a safety interlock built into the AM905D head unit.

How does this compare to the other Aerpro kits for the Triton?

The AMDMB8 covers the Triton MQ (2016–2018).
