Here are some key points to note about our shipping policy:

By placing an order, you acknowledge that delivery timeframes may be extended beyond our standard estimates during this period.

Estimated delivery times:

  • WA, NT, and TAS: currently experiencing longer shipping times
  • Holiday periods (e.g. Christmas): deliveries may be delayed due to increased freight volumes

Product features

9" Wireless CarPlay for the Earlier Triton GLX-R and Challenger W697 Units Only, SWC Retained, Park Brake and Display Relocation Required

Product Overview

The Aerpro AMDMB1 is a complete head unit upgrade kit for the Mitsubishi Triton MN GLX-R (2009–2012) and Challenger PB (2009–2011) fitted with the W697 factory head unit. It replaces the factory unit with a 9" capacitive touchscreen at 1024x600 resolution, adding wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, built-in DAB+ digital radio, and Bluetooth V5 while retaining factory steering wheel controls.

The AMDMB1 covers an earlier production window than the AMDMB3 (which uses the W776 factory unit from 2012–2014). Where the AMDMB3 also retains vehicle menu access and PTT function, the AMDMB1 retains SWC only all other vehicle feature retention fields are N/A for this W697 generation.

The kit includes the AM905D multimedia receiver, black facia kit, SWC interface harness, SWC patch lead, plastic pocket, head unit removal keys, and a 720P AHD universal rear camera.

Features & Benefits

  • W697 factory unit specific — designed for Triton MN GLX-R and Challenger PB models fitted with the W697 factory head unit; not compatible with the W776 variants (see AMDMB3 for those)
  • SWC retained — the SWC interface harness and patch lead carry over factory steering wheel control functionality after installation
  • Factory 6-button red display — relocation panel required (sold separately) — the factory red button display is not retained or relocated by this kit; the FP8013TR (Triton) or FP8013CR (Challenger) relocation panel is required separately if you wish to keep it accessible
  • Head unit removal keys included — purpose-made keys for extracting the W697 factory unit cleanly without damage to the surrounding trim
  • Plastic pocket included — provides a mounting solution for the cavity left by the factory head unit within the new installation
  • Park brake wire connection required — Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will not activate unless the park brake wire is correctly connected to the park brake during installation
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto — connect over Wi-Fi for maps, music, calls, and messages; wired USB also supported for simultaneous phone charging
  • 9" capacitive touchscreen at 1024x600 resolution — a significant upgrade over the W697 factory display with full touch control across media, navigation, and settings
  • Built-in DAB+ digital radio — digital audio clarity and expanded station access; AM/FM with RDS, 18 FM and 12 AM presets included
  • Bluetooth V5 with HD Voice — hands-free calling, audio streaming, and phonebook access; internal and external microphone included
  • 720P AHD universal rear camera included — Sony 225 1/3" CMOS sensor, 150-degree lens; adds reversing visibility to vehicles not factory-equipped with a reverse camera
  • 4 x 50W max output with 5CH 4V RCA preouts — supports external amplifier integration via front/rear/sub preamp channels

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the AMDMB1 differ from the AMDMB3?

The AMDMB1 suits the earlier Triton MN GLX-R (2009–2012) and Challenger PB (2009–2011) fitted with the W697 factory unit. The AMDMB3 suits the later variants (2012–2014) fitted with the W776 factory unit. The AMDMB3 also retains vehicle menu access and PTT function, which the AMDMB1 does not — all other vehicle feature retention fields on the AMDMB1 are N/A.

How do I confirm my vehicle has the W697 factory unit?

Check the label on your existing factory head unit — the model number should identify whether it is the W697 or a different variant. The Aerpro What Fits Your Car Guide can also help confirm which kit matches your specific build.

What happens to the factory 6-button red display?

The 6-button red display is not retained or relocated by the AMDMB1. To keep it accessible in the vehicle after the head unit swap, a separate relocation panel is required — the FP8013TR for Triton or FP8013CR for Challenger, both sold separately.

Why is the park brake wire required for CarPlay?

The AM905D head unit includes a safety interlock that requires the park brake wire to be connected to the actual park brake. Without this connection, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will not activate. This is a design requirement of the head unit.

What does the plastic pocket do in this kit?

The plastic pocket fills and finishes the cavity left when the factory head unit is removed, providing a clean mounting slot within the new head unit installation rather than leaving an open gap in the dash structure.
