Questions before you buy?

Will a GNET dash cam fit my car?

Yes. GNET cameras mount behind the rearview mirror with an adhesive or suction bracket, which fits the windscreen of virtually any passenger car, ute or SUV. Rear, cabin and side cameras (on 3CH and 4CH kits) mount separately and route through the interior trim.

Do I need professional installation?

No, GNET dash cams are designed for DIY fitting with the front camera mounted behind the mirror and plugged into a 12V socket. That said, a hardwired setup (needed for parking mode) means running cable through the trim, so if you'd rather not do that yourself, our team can fit it for you in-store at Albion Park Rail or South Nowra.

Which memory card should I use?

GNET cameras take a Micro SD card from 8GB up to 512GB, with MLC Class 10 as the recommended type. Standard consumer SD cards wear out fast under constant loop recording, so an MLC-type card is worth calling out specifically.

Does parking mode work when my car is switched off?

Yes, when the camera is wired through a GNET hardwire kit rather than run off a cigarette lighter socket. GNET's permanent power spec includes low-voltage cut-off and boot-voltage settings, so the system uses a triaxial acceleration sensor for impact recording and time-lapse capture at 1fps in parking mode, waking to 10fps in the two seconds ahead of a detected event.

Will it drain my battery?

Not under normal use. The camera's permanent power setup includes low-voltage cut-off, which disconnects the camera once the car battery drops to a set voltage threshold, so it protects the battery from over-discharging while in parking mode.

Which GNET model should I buy?

It depends on what you need. For everyday 2CH front and rear coverage, the G-ONX gives 1080p on both cameras, the G-ONW steps up to FHD HDR with a Sony Starvis sensor, the G-ONQ Pro moves to QHD front and rear, and the G-ON2 Pro gives QHD front with FHD rear plus built-in GPS. If you're after 4CH coverage for a truck, bus or caravan, the D-FORCE S1 adds front, rear, cabin and side cameras in one kit. Higher resolution and more channels means a higher price, so it comes down to the coverage and detail you need versus your budget. Get in touch and we can help match you to the right model.

Can I view footage on my phone?

Yes. A Wi-Fi dongle lets you play back footage and change settings from a smartphone, and also handles automatic firmware updates.
